Highlights from 2023
My favorite moments from the past year
Wow, can you believe it is almost the end of 2023? 2023 was a year of transition for me and my business. I closed my physical gallery space at the end of 2022 and shifted all my art programming online for 2023. The shift enabled me to dive deeper into artists I love.
I curated five online solo exhibits by amazing female artists: Meredith Walker, Hannah Surace, Jean Gray Mohs, Emily Bartolone, and Maggie Perrin-Key.
I continued to freelance write for publications like Midtown Magazine and 5West. I also launched Art Collected, my newsletter on Substack, to write about art, artists, interiors, and anything art-related. The Substack newsletter has increased, with each post getting thousands of views! I am so grateful to all of you who want to read my art ramblings.
I am very proud to be able to give back to the Raleigh arts community by funding the HBCU artist residency program at Artspace. The current resident, Jalen Jackson, is fantastic. Make sure to check out his work!
On the home front, my husband and I finished our new home in Raleigh. I love collaborating with my husband on home design. Creating spaces for our family to enjoy for years to come is extraordinary. We are also working on a new home on Bald Head Island, NC.
Thank you to everyone who stuck with me this year! I know many of you miss the gallery space, and I do, too, but for now, online is where we can connect and support the arts in Raleigh in 2024!
X, Charlotte
